But then again aren't we all at some point. :) Yes it's true I am desperate for new recipes because I'm tired of the foods I cook; or lack there of. I love cooking but baked chicken and green beans can only get you so far. I am desperately seeking new food options but not having much luck finding recipes that sound good and are weight/heart healthy. Maybe it's because I'm full off of chocolate milk so nothing sounds good or maybe it's because I'm not searching using the correct key words. Regardless I'm asking for your recipes so I'm not serving cereal every night for the next week. And unfortunately we are slightly picky around here only because of my high blood pressure I need low sodium recipes and even though my husband doesn't eat vegetables I can always puree them and hide them in food (I've done this before and he didn't know....shhhh don't tell him). He's also on somewhat of a diet and trying to eat low fat foods so those are good too. I have several cookbooks to look through too but it's so overwhelming so that's why I'm reaching out to anyone who reads this (which might be no one) who might have dinner recipes that you can share.
Sorry I'm not as cool as the Pioneer Woman and don't have any good give aways for your recipes. I can only offer a big thank you for sharing. And my husband would appreciate a warm cooked meal since something about cereal not filling him up is his concern.

I'm Pretty Sure He's Going to Kill Me
I'm sure Michael is going to kill me but I can't help myself. Kim was gracious enough to take pictures of Michael, his sister Dawn, and I over the Easter weekend so we can give to his mom for Mother's Day. Not only did she do a great job in taking our pictures but she also had a tough group to work with.... It's a good thing she has two kids because she's had practice dealing with people who can't sit still. Although we aren't as cute as Noah and Abigial we still had a great time on Sunday taking pictures. We can't thank her enough for taking time out of her weekend to do us a favor.
Here is a glimpse of one picture she took and it shows the weight difference in Michael from Dec 2008 until now. I can't believe how much his face has changed to. How hot is he??? :)

THEN (I took this one in NY)
NOW (Kim's picture from Sunday)

It's amazing to see such a difference in him in such a short time. I'm so proud of him. Thank you Kim for taking our pictures and for making him sit still long enough to get really good ones of him. I think he was excited in his own guy way in how they turned out and felt good about how they looked.
Anyway, I better hurry up and get off of here because I made him take the dogs out so I could finish this without him knowing. Now I see him chasing Bailey around outside trying to get her to go potty. So I should go out there with him and keep him company.

Where in the world is Waldo?
Waldo just sounded much catchier than Where in the World is Leanne so I figured it was a better title. So where have I been well if I told you I'd have to kill you....or I could just let you in on the secrets of my life, which aren't many nor are they exciting.
I'm first proud to announce that my husband has a challenge/bet with his father that from Dec 1 2008 - Jun 1 2009 he had to lose 70 pounds. Michael being the man he is doesn't like to lose to his father so he accepted his bet and came home and started working out on our elliptical. One that was purchased in 2005 when we purchased the house (why I have no idea) and one that was used less than 10 times in a span of 3 years. After a week of working out on it the thing broke........ yes as in the solid IRON wheel in the back came off. I still think Michael broke it on purpose because he didn't like that particular model. Either way I purchased him a new one for Christmas and I'm proud to say that one is still in tact (but it should be for the money I spent....goodness - but I'm digressing here). SOOOO I'm proud to say that Michael has been faithful in his working out and faithful in eating better and has dropped 50 of the 70 pounds he was challenged with and we still have 1/2 of April and all of May to go. And I know he can do it. We are meeting his parents the weekend of May 15th in Orlando for a Savery family weekend together so he's trying to lose all of his weight by then to surprise them. So when they ask about his weight he won't tell them... but no worries they don't know I have a blog so I'm not letting his secrets out. I'm so proud of him for sticking to it and for sticking to his work out routine which isn't an easy one. He's a better man than I am because I can't stay on that thing longer than 15 minutes b/c my ADD kicks in and I get bored. I think the other night he did 73 minutes and some crazy amount of miles on that thing. The only bad thing is when he's finished he then drips sweat throughout the house so I have to follow him around with a mop so it's doubling my house work. I think he likes to brag about his clothes falling off of him and being on the last notch of his belt. Although poor guy - his clothes falling off hasn't led to many 'good' bragging stories... haha. So enough about him I don't want him to know I have good things to say about him and how much I love him. I have to keep him humble somehow and since he doesn't read the blog (I don't even know if he knows I have one) I can brag about him without him knowing.
As far as me and what I've been up to - well that seems to be a whole lotta working and volunteering. Okay let's be honest less working and more volunteering is probably closer to the truth. :) I'm still at the hospital on Thursday nights and love it. I'm working with a girl on the TLC cart and we pass out ice, fresh towels, sheets, and drinks for FREE which is better than asking if they want to buy a drink or candy bar from the old cart I pushed around. Then of course I'm still doing Hope Therapy on Saturdays. It's turned into an all day Saturday thing from 8:30 - 4:30 and sometimes later but I wouldn't have it any other way; it feels good to serve others. I love Hope Therapy - I love being out there around the kids and around the horses. The women that run it are just good people so it's not hard to be out there all day; plus I think it's my form of therapy which I need come Saturday. Not to mention the hardships they've had recently with the husband/father who had a massive heart attack on Thanksgiving and has been in the hospital and rehab since just got to come home on Good Friday. And that is they WAY short story of the heartache they've faced and the reality that they might lose him at one point was so real. But I'm happy to announce he's home now and still have some recovery to do with in home physical therapy (Debra hurry up with your school girl) and just rebuilding his strength but it's an amazing journey they were on.
On a more personal note, I started my first round of fertility treatments in March. I had to start with a drug called Provera that was to generate a cycle for me, then once my cycle started I was to then take Clomid during my ovulation days, and then take a pregnancy test 2 weeks after my last day of ovulation. Which was today and unfortunately the test came back negative this morning. And I know this is probably not the most personal way of telling people BUT I tried talking about it this morning and just couldn't get it out. I think because I kept seeing the disappointed look on Michael's face when I told him. I didn't have to have my contacts in or my glasses on to see his head drop to the bed. I probably could have said it nicer too from the bathroom but I think the words 'negative ghost rider' came out as I tossed it ever so not gently into the trash can. But I know it's because he's so excited with us finally being able to start trying and I think he was holding out high hopes that it would only take one round. I had this feeling I wasn't and I even told him a few days ago to not expect a positive because something inside me is just telling me that it's not my time yet. I also had a dream before I woke up that I somehow took a pregnancy test in the bed and when it came back negative I threw it into the bathroom from my bed.... which was weird. I called my doctor's office today and have an appointment for next Wednesday to see what our next plan of action is. I was hoping to get in this Wed but apparently they had 4 doctors on vacation last week so everyone is being crammed to this week; so I'm okay with it all.
You know the Lord has a plan in all of this and the work I know he's started in me isn't finished and I know won't be finished until the day I see him face to face. But whatever he's doing right now is for my good and He waste no pain NOR does he cause pain and trials just because he wants to. There will be something so amazing that comes out of this and while I am disappointed too, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't, whatever is waiting at the end of this will be so worth it. My other bible study has ended as far as the book work goes so on Friday I started reading the book of Job and look at the trials he faced and overcame. And I know I'll come through this, after all it's only our first round of treatments and I know people who have tried for years and sometimes are finally successful and sometimes aren't. One lady I volunteer with tried for 3 years to get pregnant and never did and finally gave up, only to get pregnant a short time after. I have a cousin in Texas who tried for years and never could and finally ended up adopting several months ago. So even though I was somewhat let down this morning it's only my first time and I'm just thankful the Lord has opened the door for a new doctor and a world of possibilities. And while I wait my focus will be on Him, to continue losing weight to prepare my body, and hopefully for Michael to continue losing weight too so we are both healthy enough.
But in hopes of ending on a funny note (because I hate crying - even though I think I have abnormally large tear ducts) as I was logging into my blog my home page is AOL and a story was up about the Duggar family so I clicked on it to see their big news. And Lord I just want you to know I think it's great that you've given the Duggar family on TLC 18 kids and a new daughter in law who apparently is now 3 months pregnant too... but you can share some of those fertile eggs with the rest of us. Does one family really need that many kids?? Oh well maybe that's my queue to wrap up so I don't sound like a bitter party of one. :))) Not to mention Re-Greta has been trying to crawl in my lap with the laptop for the last 20 minutes.
Peace out from the worlds largest indoor domestic zoo.
